From August 1, Nandini milk and dairy products will cost Rs. 3 extra.
BENGALURU: Beginning on August 1, the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has revised the rates for Nandini milk, curds, and buttermilk.
According to a KMF official announcement, prices for various types of milk and milk products will increase starting on Tuesday from Rs 1 to Rs 3.
The request from the milk unions was granted by the chief minister, Siddaramaiah, a week ago, and the state cabinet also approved the plan a few days ago.
The milk unions had asked for a boost of Rs 5 per litre of milk and milk products after suffering major losses as a result of sharp increases in input expenses, such as cattle feed and energy rates, as well as an outbreak of lumpy skin disease.
The CM had only agreed to the raise of Rs. 3, irritated by the unions’ demand, and urged that the entire hiked sum be given to the farmers. As a result, starting on Tuesday, the KMF has revised the rates of Nandini milk as well as other goods including curds and buttermilk.
