Man Stabs Senior Citizen Who Mistook Him for a Pet Parent After Being Barking at a Dog; Arrested

A guy was detained in Bengaluru, Karnataka after he stabbed an elderly person who he thought was the owner of the dog that had growled at him.

The incident happened earlier this week at 17th Cross in the Malleswaram neighborhood of the city when daily-wage laborer H Raju suddenly attacked 62-year-old Balasubramanya HV on the street.

Rajajinagar resident Balasubramanya, who survived the attack, was released from the hospital. According to a story by Times of India, the elderly man said in his police report that the dog that mauled Raju was probably a stray.

Police detained Raju, age 57, after receiving a complaint from Balasubramanya. Raju claimed that on August 21, at around 8:30 p.m., a dog suddenly barked at and chased him while he was strolling on the sidewalk on 17th Cross.
