On a Vistara flight, a baby turns blue and stops breathing; AIIMS describes how physicians were able to resuscitate her.
On a Bengaluru-Delhi Vistara flight with five AIIMS doctors on board, a 2-year-old baby stopped breathing and had cyanosed lips and fingers. According to AIIMS, the medical professionals gave her CPR and successfully inserted an IV cannula before bringing her back to spontaneous circulation. It said, “It was complicated by a second cardiac arrest for which an AED was used. She underwent external cardiothoracic surgery.
While returning from ISVIR- on board the Bangalore to Delhi flight this evening, on Vistara Airline flight UK- 814- A distress call was announced
It was a 2-year-old cyanotic female child who was operated on outside for intracardiac repair, was unconscious, and cyanosed

Immediately child was examined – his pulse was absent, extremities were cold, and the child was not breathing with cyanosed lips and fingers
On air- Immediate CPR was started and with limited resources, using skilled work and active management by a team
Successfully IV canulla was placed, an oropharyngeal airway was put and an emergency response was initiated by the whole team of residents on board- and the baby for brought to ROSC- return of circulation.
It was complicated by another cardiac arrest for which an AED was used. For 45 minutes, the baby was resuscitated and the flight was routed to Nagpur
On reaching Nagpur, the child was handed over in stable hemodynamic to the pediatrician
