Gruha Lakshmi registrations are suspended by the Karnataka Govt.
The administration has not, however, made it clear how the programme will be supported.
In accordance with the decision issued on Monday, the government would comply with section 7(2) and (3) of the Unorganised Workers Social Security Act-2008 by providing some state grants and requesting further grants from the Centre. In addition to corporate social responsibility (CSR) funding and “any such approved mechanisms by the state government,” the government may also ask firms and employees to contribute money to the programme.
