Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced Monday that there will be no power interruptions for industries or home use in the future, adding that irrigation pump sets (IP) across the state will have seven-hour electricity.

Karnataka has been experiencing a severe power crisis in recent weeks as a result of lower power generation owing to drought in the state combined with an increase in power demand.

According to CM, the state's power situation has improved thanks to improvements in electricity generation. Because the government must purchase power to ensure a consistent supply, the financial allocation for IP subsidy would be increased to Rs 13,100 crore. "The extra expenditure will depend on the extent of power procured.
