A video of students scrubbing toilets goes viral in a third instance.

The headmaster of a state-run school was suspended on Thursday after a video of children cleaning toilets went viral online, according to officials.

In an internet video, some children at a school are shown washing and scrubbing toilets, prompting parental outrage. This is the third incidence of its kind in Karnataka this month.

According to officials, the event occurred on Saturday at a government-run school in Shivamogga district's Bhadravati taluk, where kids in class six were allegedly asked to clean toilets. When top education department officials met the headmaster, he claimed that the children were just required to pour water and not clean.

"On Wednesday, I received a 10-second Whatsapp video of students cleaning toilets. "I immediately directed the officials in charge to visit the school and conduct a thorough investigation," a senior education department officer told PTI.

"The Block Education Officer has submitted a report, on the basis of which I have initiated disciplinary action against the school's headmaster." This is unacceptable, and we have suspended Headmaster Shankarappa as a result of the event at the school last week."

This follows an incident in a state government-run school in Bengaluru in which children were allegedly asked to clean toilets. Following the viral video of the incident, the education department suspended the school's headmistress.

Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa criticized the act, calling it "shocking" and "deplorable."
