A 21 year old Bengaluru student commits suicide 'after his parents denied permission for a New Year's Eve photoshoot.'

According to authorities, a 21-year-old student committed suicide in Bengaluru after her parents refused her permission to participate in a New Year's Eve photoshoot at a mall.

Varshini, a BBA student and Sudhamanagar resident in Bengaluru, was discovered dead by her parents on Sunday morning, according to police.

Varshini had completed a photography course and had requested her parents for permission to undertake a photoshoot at a mall on New Year's Eve, according to a police officer. After her parents declined her permission, she supposedly went to her room and performed the extreme step.

"We have not got any suicide note but are going through her mobile phone to see if she had messaged anyone before the incident," the police official said.

Varshini's father had filed a police case, and her body had been returned to the family following a postmortem, according to DCP (Central) Shekar. He also stated that an investigation is underway.
