DK Shivakumar: 'Provide Cauvery water to Bengaluru South within 3-4 months.'

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar directed BWSSB (Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board) and BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) officials to provide Cauvery water to Bengaluru South Assembly constituency people within the next 3-4 months.

Speaking at the public grievance redressal programme 'Government at Your Doorstep' near Yelachenahalli, he stated, "MP DK Suresh has raised the issue of drinking water and traffic congestion in the area. Suresh is determined to offer drinking water to the residents in the region. I shall instruct BWSSB and BDA officials to prioritize Cauvery water for the area over the next 3-4 months."

"People come to us when they cannot find a solution to their situation anyplace else. Instead of you coming to our doorstep, I brought the government to yours. We will address people's concerns in all of Bengaluru's assembly constituencies," he said.

"Approximately 500 officials will attend to your issues today. Before presenting your grievances, you must register them at the specified counters. Officials will be able to contact you if you include your phone numbers on the appeal. We may not be able to settle your difficulties in one day, but we will make every effort to do so within the legal framework and within a reasonable time limit," he said.

"Shivakumara Swamiji once remarked, 'Don't attempt to become a great man; instead, try to become a decent guy, and you will naturally become a great man. "I believe people's work is God's work," he stated.

There is a need for an alternative route for the 18-kilometer length in the Bengaluru South assembly seat, he said, adding that attempts are underway to resuscitate an old BDA project to connect Kanakapura to Electronic City.
