The urban development department has issued a directive to civic entities to keep meat shops and slaughterhouses closed on January 22, according to a government release.
On the occasion of the Ram Mandir pran pratishtha celebration, a special cleanliness push will be carried out in all urban areas, including temple grounds, according to the statement.
According to the statement, Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has requested local governments to ensure that as many individuals and public leaders as possible participate in the initiative.
The BJP-led government in the state has already proclaimed a half-day for government offices and a holiday for schools and institutions on January 22.
