The closing of the Peenya flyover on Tuesday night caused major traffic congestion and uncertainty on Wednesday morning.
Traffic interruptions occurred in Goraguntepalya, Peenya, Jalahalli, and Dasarahalli as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) conducted load testing on 240 newly installed prestressed cables near the flyover.
Siri Gowri, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Traffic (North),
The traffic signals have been set to manual mode, allowing for variations in timing frequency dependent on traffic volume. Measures have been taken to guarantee that continuing work does not create ambulance delays.
Additionally, roughly 40 extra traffic police personnel, along with Yeshwanthpur, Malleswaram, and Peenya traffic police, have been deployed to monitor the situation, with the primary focus currently being on supporting smooth traffic movement, according to the senior official.
To relieve congestion at the Goraguntepalya intersection and the Peenya flyover service road, traffic police urged goods vehicles and those traveling to Tumakuru via the Outer Ring Road-Sumanahalli flyover to take Magadi Road, then NICE Road.
