Parasuram wrote and directed The Family Star, a 2024 Indian Telugu-language romantic action drama film produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film stars Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur in prominent roles.
The film was officially announced in February 2023 with the preliminary title VD11, as it is Vijay's 11th film as the lead actor, and the actual title was revealed in October 2023. Principal photography began in July 2023. It was shot intermittently over several legs, with locations including Hyderabad and New York. Gopi Sundar composed the film's music.
Family Star was originally supposed to be released on Sankranthi, but it was postponed to prevent competing with Sankranthi films. Critics panned The Family Star, citing Parasuram's screenplay and direction, as well as the film's mediocre comedy, plot, predictability, soundtrack, and performances by the lead cast. The film was a box office flop, grossing ₹19.78 crore against a budget of ₹50 crore.
