Actor Darshan was given six weeks' bail due to medical reasons.

On medical reasons, the Karnataka High Court has granted actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is on trial in the Renukaswamy murder case, six weeks of interim bail.

According to specialists at VIMS Hospital in Bengaluru, the actor had asked for bail in order to have urgent back surgery for pain in his L1 and L5 vertebrae. Senior counsel C V Nagesh, Darshan's lawyer, made lengthy arguments in support of the actor's urgent need for medical attention, which led to the High Court's ruling.

The actor volunteered to pay for the intended surgery at a private hospital in Mysuru, which the defense provided along with medical documentation demonstrating numbness in both of Darshan's feet.

The State Prosecutor first expressed issues about the hospital selection and the medical information supplied, raising doubts about the length of hospital stay required. However, the High Court granted Darshan the six-week period for his operation and recuperation by citing Supreme Court decisions that uphold an undertrial's ability to select their own medical care.

The order's author, Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty, directed that Darshan's health status be tracked throughout his bail period. The court's decision emphasizes how crucial it is to balance legal processes with humanitarian considerations by attending to medical requirements, especially for those who are on trial.
