Bengaluru's forest trees were cut for the filming of Yash's next project.

Claiming that "hundreds of trees" on the forest area were felled to make way for the filming of "Toxic," starring Sandalwood's Rocking Star Yash, Eshwar Khandre, the minister of forests ordered his department's top officials on Tuesday to file forest crime charges against those who removed the trees and to take strong legal action against those who allowed the axing of trees.

In the context of the ongoing dispute between HMT and the forest department, the minister said that during his visit to the forest a few days ago, he found extensive destruction of trees and plants on the area in order to create a set for the film.

Officials informed Khandre that a portion of the forest area had been "rented out" so that trees and other vegetation could be cleared to create a set for the filming. The minister noted in his letter to the extra chief secretary for forest, environment, and ecology on Tuesday that the 599-acre area had already been designated as "reserved forest" through a gazette notification, and that the HMT had been given the land without denotifying the forest land.

HMT has already unlawfully transferred the forest land it owns to a number of public and private organizations that support non-forest operations. The extensive loss of trees and other plants on the forest land is clearly seen in the satellite photos.
