According to the police, a 20-year-old male in Bengaluru drove over a 30-year-old woman on Saturday while operating a Mercedes-Benz vehicle while reportedly intoxicated.
Sandhya A S, a Basaveshwara Nagar resident, was identified as the deceased. Dhanush, the accused, was taken into judicial custody by the police.
He is the son of L V Travels, a private bus company owned by Parameshwar. Dhanush allegedly struck Sandhya before colliding with a 23-year-old motorcyclist named Syed Arbaz, who was also hurt.
The accident happened close to the Kengeri Traffic Transit Management Center at approximately 6:45 p.m., according to police sources. According to the police, Dhanush, who was operating a Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC43, knocked Sandhya down as she was crossing the street and subsequently struck Syed Arbaz's bike.
Sandhya was transported to a neighboring hospital following the tragedy, where medical professionals pronounced her dead. According to her relatives, the Kengeri traffic police were first hesitant to file a formal complaint. Her uncle Umesh told the media that because the IT system at the Kengeri traffic police station was down, the FIR was only filed at the R R Nagar police station on Sunday at around three in the morning.
