Social media is incensed over a contentious event at Bengaluru's Mantri Mall where a food delivery worker was denied access to the elevator.

Following claims that a food delivery executive was refused entry to the elevator by mall employees, a recent incident at Bengaluru's Mantri Mall has provoked intense criticism. Social media users have accused the mall of discriminating against service workers, drawing a lot of attention to the issue. 

Public indignation has been sparked by the occurrence, with many people denouncing the treatment of delivery workers who are essential to daily urban life. Social media users criticized the mall's regulations when a video of an incident between a delivery executive, other mall patrons, and mall employees went viral. One user asked, "Does allowing delivery executives to use the lift harm the dignity of your mall?"

This controversy follows a similar incident at the GT World Mall in Bengaluru, where a farmer wearing traditional clothing was turned away. The government issued recommendations to malls on these matters as a result of the case, which caused a great deal of public outcry and even made it to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
