Voting is in progress in Sandur, Shiggaon, and Channapatna.

As the Congress and BJP-JDS fight for the seats up for grabs in the Lok Sabha, voting gets underway in Channapatna, Shiggaon, and Sandur. We provide you with real-time information all day long as voting begins in three of Karnataka's most important constituencies: Channapatna, Shiggaon, and Sandur.

There are forty-five candidates running in this by-election. Following the appointment of JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy, former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, and Congressman E Tukaram as union ministers, three seats were left vacant, prompting by-elections in these constituencies. 

They were in charge of the assembly seats in Sandur, Shiggaon, and Channapatna, respectively. Voting is scheduled to continue until approximately 6 p.m. today, having started at 7 a.m. In around 770 districts, over seven lakh voters are eligible to cast ballots.
