A Bengaluru textile shop owner, Vinay, was arrested for stealing gold ornaments worth ₹5 lakh from his tenant’s house. The incident took place in Srinivasanagar, where Vinay’s parents had rented out the ground floor of their house to a woman named Rohini and her family.
On March 15, at around 9:30 PM, Rohini and her family locked their home and left for Tirupati to attend a family function. They returned on the morning of March 17 but left again to visit Rohini’s mother. When they came back at 7:30 PM, Rohini attempted to store her jewelry in a locker but discovered that the cupboard drawer lock was broken. She realized that 70 grams of gold ornaments were missing.
Since the house’s main door was intact, the police suspected that someone familiar with the family had committed the theft. The fingerprint bureau collected samples from the crime scene, and police closely monitored Vinay’s behavior. Their suspicions deepened, leading them to take his fingerprints for verification.
Following the investigation, police confirmed Vinay's involvement and arrested him. The stolen jewelry was successfully recovered.
