Bengaluru's Vidhana Soudha Shines Bright with New Permanent Lighting System
In a vibrant celebration of history and modernity, Bengaluru's iconic Vidhana Soudha has been illuminated with a stunning new permanent lighting system. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the dazzling display on the evening of April 6, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Karnataka Assembly Speaker UT Khader, and several other dignitaries.
This ambitious lighting project, costing several crores, aims to highlight the architectural beauty of the seat of Karnataka's state legislature. While the building has been temporarily lit during festivals and national events in the past, this marks the first time it will be permanently illuminated, making it a consistent visual spectacle in the city's skyline.
The lights will be switched on every weekend evening and during significant state and national occasions, promising to be a regular treat for both residents and visitors. In a move to foster inclusivity and civic engagement, Speaker UT Khader has proposed that the public be allowed to visit and view the illuminated building every Sunday between 4 pm and 7 pm.
The permanent installation is more than just a beautification effort; it is a symbol of civic pride and a new cultural landmark in Bengaluru's central district. The grandeur of the Vidhana Soudha, now bathed in mesmerizing lights, is expected to attract tourists, photographers, and architecture enthusiasts alike.
With this initiative, the Karnataka government not only celebrates the legacy of a historic building but also creates a space for the public to engage with their heritage in a luminous new way.
