During a special campaign on Tuesday, the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) filed over 1,055 cases against traffic offenders, concentrating on footpath riding, no-entry infractions, and triple riding on two-wheelers.
Of these, 812 cases were brought against drivers for riding on limited roadways and driving against the flow of traffic. In addition, 116 incidences of triple riding were reported, and 127 drivers received fines totaling Rs 64,000 for parking on sidewalks.
Early on Wednesday, a Chikkaballapur junior attorney lost his life in a traffic accident on Ballari Road close to the airport toll booth. Rahul, 25, was killed, according to the Devanahalli traffic police, after he lost control of his bike and collided with metal grill obstacles on the left side of the road close to a Kannamangala school.
According to reports, Rahul tried to pass another car at around seven in the morning. At the spot, he was pronounced dead. Rahul worked as an advocate for a town private firm.
