Mukesh Ambani Announces ₹7 Lakh Crore Investment in Gujarat at Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit in Rajkot

Rajkot, Gujarat | January 11, 2026

Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Shri Mukesh D. Ambani on Saturday announced a massive investment commitment of ₹7 lakh crore in Gujarat over the next five years, reaffirming Reliance’s deep-rooted association with the state and positioning Gujarat as a global hub for clean energy, artificial intelligence, and future industries.

Addressing the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra region in Rajkot, Ambani said Reliance’s investments would generate large-scale employment, enhance livelihoods, and create long-term wealth for Gujaratis and Indians alike.

The summit was attended by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghvi, senior government officials, and industry leaders.

Gujarat Is Reliance’s “Body, Heart and Soul”

“Gujarat is far more than a location for Reliance. Gujarat is our body, heart and soul,” Ambani said, describing Reliance as a proud Gujarati company.

He recalled his father, the late Shri Dhirubhai Ambani, as a son of Saurashtra, born in Chorwad, and paid tribute to the region’s contribution to India’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Calling Rajkot “a Raja, a king among the cities of Gujarat,” Ambani said the first-ever Regional Vibrant Gujarat Summit outside Gandhinagar would act as a force multiplier for Saurashtra’s development.

Five Key Commitments to Gujarat

Ambani outlined five firm commitments from Reliance Industries to Gujarat and the nation.

First, he announced investment at an unprecedented scale. Reliance, already Gujarat’s largest investor, has invested over ₹3.5 lakh crore in the last five years. This investment will now be doubled to ₹7 lakh crore over the next five years.

Second, he highlighted Reliance’s ambition to make Gujarat a global leader in clean energy and green materials. At Jamnagar, Reliance is building what Ambani described as the world’s largest integrated clean energy ecosystem, spanning solar power, battery energy storage, green hydrogen, green fertilisers, sustainable aviation fuel, maritime fuels, and advanced materials.

“Jamnagar, once the largest hydrocarbon energy exporter, will become India’s largest exporter of green energy and materials,” he said.

Third, Ambani announced plans to transform Kutch into a global clean energy hub. Reliance’s multi-gigawatt utility-scale solar project—among the largest in the world—will deliver round-the-clock clean power using advanced storage and modern grid integration.

Fourth, he declared Gujarat’s entry into the artificial intelligence era. Reliance is building India’s largest AI-ready data centre in Jamnagar with the goal of providing affordable AI for every Indian. Jio will launch a people-first AI platform, enabling citizens to access AI services in their own language on their own devices.

Fifth, Ambani reaffirmed Reliance Foundation’s commitment to social development and India’s Olympic ambitions. Reliance will partner with the Gujarat government to manage the Veer Savarkar Multi-Sports Complex in Naranpura and support India’s bid to host the 2036 Olympics in Ahmedabad. He also announced a world-class hospital in Jamnagar and a major expansion of educational facilities in Saurashtra.

Praise for Prime Minister Modi’s Leadership

Ambani credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with restoring India’s civilizational self-belief and steering the country from “potential to performance.”

“Never in the history of independent India have we seen so much hope, self-confidence and vibrancy in India as we do today,” he said, adding that the Modi era would be remembered as the period when India moved from aspiration to action and emerged as a global force.

Referring to global geopolitical challenges, Ambani said India remains resilient under Modi’s leadership. “India has an invincible protective wall,” he said, calling this decade “India’s defining decade.”

Gujarat’s Development Is Reliance’s Sankalp

Concluding his address, Ambani said Reliance’s vision for Gujarat is “big in ambition, bold in execution, rooted in Gujarat, and dedicated to the service of Bharat Mata.”

“From Saurashtra and Kutch, we in industry are proud to participate in the growth and direction that the Prime Minister has shown all of us,” he said.

He ended the speech with chants of “Jai Saurashtra and Kutch, Jai Jai Garvi Gujarat, Jai Hind.”
