In relation to the murder of her husband, a 36-year-old woman from Karkala taluk, Karnataka, and her purported lover, whom she met on the media, have been taken into custody.
The Times of India reports that suspects Prathima and Dileep Hegde, both 28, were taken into custody on Friday following an inquiry that found the two had reportedly poisoned and strangled 44-year-old Balakrishna to death early on October 20.
According to the report, Balakrishna was treated at many hospitals in Karkala, Manipal, Mangaluru, and Bengaluru during the weeks that he was ill. He did not, however, respond to treatment, and on the evening of October 19, he went back home.
Balakrishna was brought home with his wife and kids, according to a complaint his father filed. On October 20, at around 3:30 in the morning, Balakrishna's father allegedly heard a disturbance and discovered his daughter unconscious. He was later pronounced dead by a government hospital physician.
