A Kenyan woman was caught at the Bengaluru airport with cocaine worth Rs. 26 crore.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) apprehended a Kenyan citizen with drugs worth Rs 26 crore at the Kempegowda International Airport here.

The woman was about to proceed to Delhi with 2.56 kg of cocaine when DRI agents apprehended her on a tip-off on January 15.

"Specific intelligence was acquired that a Kenyan woman was to board an Indigo flight to Delhi from Bengaluru Airport with narcotics. Based on the tip, the traveler was apprehended, and a search of her checked-in baggage confirmed the presence of cocaine, as identified in a field testing tool," a DRI officer stated.

The official also stated, "The contraband was cleverly concealed in the false bottom of her suitcase." The contraband weighed 2.56 kilograms when seized. The passenger was arrested and placed in judicial custody. "An additional investigation is underway."
