Karnataka Hindu activists beaten assaulted in Muslim-dominated area over 'Jai Shri Ram' shouts.

Hindu activists were allegedly beaten in a Muslim-dominated area of Karnataka's Vijayapura district after raising 'Jai Shri Ram' shouts.

On Friday, the incident occurred during the distribution of 'Mantrakshate' (holy grains of rice brought from Ayodhya) to residents of Devara Hipparagi town at their doorsteps. A case has also been filed at the Devara Hipparagi police station in connection with the incident.

Babu Rajendra, a BJP politician and Hindu activist, claimed that some individuals attacked Lord Ram devotees and RSS workers.

"The attack on our activists is strongly condemned. India is a tolerant country, and we will protest the impeding of the Ram Mandir opening celebrations. I warn those who have attacked Ram Bhakts to pay maryada (honor) to Maryada Puruahottam Ram so that we can live peacefully in cohabitation," he stated.

"I also advise community leaders to rein in those members who are causing trouble. Otherwise, there will suffer consequences," Nayak said.

Some people apparently questioned the raising of 'Jai Shri Ram' shouts and told Hindu activists not to raise them, attacking him in the process.

Following the event, volunteers from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal, and other Hindu activists agreed to distribute 'Mantrakshate' on Saturday.

Sensing concern, the police convened representatives from both communities for a meeting and received guarantees that no violence would be tolerated.

On Saturday evening, Hindu campaigners distributed 'Mantrakshate' under police protection in Ward 8.
